Genome‐wide association studies – Professor David Evans

Genome‐wide association studies have been spectacularly successful over the last few years in terms of identifying common genetic variants associated with complex traits and diseases. David will explain how simple statistical tests can be used to map genetic loci associated with complex traits. This will include a discussion of genotype imputation, meta‐analysis, approaches to detect and correct for population stratification, as well as some guidelines on how the results from genome‐wide association studies should be interpreted and replicated.
